Econet Wireless Zimbabwe Unveils Life-Changing Prizes in 2024 ‘iJoy afta Joy’ Christmas Campaign

Econet Wireless Zimbabwe recently concluded its highly anticipated 2024 ‘iJoy afta Joy’ Christmas promotion, marking a significant milestone in the company’s commitment to enhancing the lives of its customers. The campaign saw the handover of four residential smart homes, four brand-new cars, and eight solar power systems to lucky winners, creating an unforgettable experience for all involved.

The event took place in Penrose, Nyabira, where winners were presented with their prizes in a vibrant ceremony. Families, guests, and Econet executives gathered to celebrate the achievements of those who had won life-changing rewards. Many of the winners were visibly emotional, overwhelmed by the magnitude of what they had received. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and joy as recipients received keys to their new homes and vehicles, symbolizing a fresh start for their families.

A Commitment to Joy and Transformation

Speaking at the event, Econet Deputy CEO Mr. Roy Chimanikire emphasized the significance of the campaign. He highlighted that the initiative was not merely a festive celebration but a genuine effort to deliver real value and joy to customers. “This campaign was more than just a festive celebration – it was about delivering real value and joy to our customers,” he stated. “It’s our way of saying ‘Thank you’ to the millions of Zimbabweans who walk this journey with us.”

He further explained that the promotion was part of Econet’s broader strategy to reward customer loyalty while promoting sustainable energy solutions. “We are not only handing over houses and vehicles – we are handing over hope, dignity, and a fresh start for entire families,” he added.

Winners Share Their Experiences

For Loveness Zimwenje, one of the four smart home winners, the moment was surreal. She described her feelings as overwhelming, stating, “I still feel like I’m dreaming. I never thought something like this could happen to someone like me.” Loveness expressed gratitude to Econet and Leengate for providing such a meaningful opportunity.

Tapiwanashe Magaya, who drove away in a brand-new Suzuki S Presso, shared similar sentiments. He admitted that he initially thought such events were only seen on television. “But today, the impossible became possible,” he said. The Suzuki S-Presso is a compact city car known for its fuel efficiency and maneuverability in urban environments, featuring a 1.0-liter engine and available with both manual and automatic transmissions.

Vimbai Chako, the youngest house winner at just 27, expressed disbelief and pride. “This is nothing short of a miracle,” she said. Vimbai is eager to create memories in her new home, which she described as a future she never imagined.

Raphael Murambiwa Motsi, who won a complete solar energy system, viewed his prize as more than just convenience. “It means freedom from blackouts, from power bills, from worrying whether my children can do their homework at night,” he said. For him, the solar system represented a lifestyle upgrade and a step toward independence.

A Legacy of Giving

Since the launch of the annual Christmas Promotion in 2019, Econet has given away over US$1.75 million worth of prizes. This includes 12 smart homes, 16 residential stands, 48 solar systems, 5 brand-new cars, 5 holiday packages, and numerous other items. Over 10,000 customers have also won cash, stoves, fridges, airtime bundles, and more.

The ‘iJoy afta Joy’ campaign continues to be a testament to Econet’s dedication to making a difference in the lives of its customers. By combining festive spirit with tangible rewards, the company reinforces its role as a leader in innovation and community support.
