Major International Arrest Marks a Victory in the Fight Against Organized Crime
The arrest of Othman El Ballouti, one of Belgium’s most wanted fugitives, represents a significant milestone in the global effort to combat transnational organized crime. In addition to El Ballouti, Dubai Police have also arrested and extradited two other high-profile Belgian fugitives—Mathias Akyazili and Giorgi Faes. Both were apprehended based on INTERPOL red notices and are facing serious charges, including operating a notorious criminal gang, drug and psychotropic substance trafficking, robbery, and human trafficking.
