Dog insists on joining every step of couple’s home renovation

A Siberian Husky’s Unofficial Role in Home Renovations

A heartwarming video that has captured the attention of millions on social media features a Siberian husky and a Labrador retriever pup taking on an unexpected role during a home renovation. The adorable clip, shared by a homeowner from Ontario, Canada, showcases the pup’s unique involvement in the project, making it a viral sensation.

The video, posted under the username @sabrinapougnet, shows the pup, named Ackley, following the couple as they drill, paint, and assemble furniture for their new home. The caption reads: “Always in the way but he tries his best.” The video’s overlay text adds, “POV: you have a dog that needs to be involved in everything.”

Ackley is not just a passive observer; he seems to take his role seriously, always present at the job site. According to Sabrina Pougnet, who adopted Ackley from a shelter in 2017 after he was up for adoption twice, the dog has become a constant companion and co-star in her videos. “He is very attached to me,” she said. “We joke that he was a site supervisor in a past life because he isn’t at all afraid of power tools.”

Pougnet explained that the video is a compilation of moments where Ackley demonstrated his “site supervisor abilities.” While he is always on the job site, he doesn’t contribute much otherwise. Despite this, his presence brings joy and laughter to everyone involved.

The Curious Nature of Dogs

Curiosity is a common trait among dogs, especially in puppies. Most puppies are born with an innate curiosity that drives them to explore their surroundings and learn about their environment. However, as they grow older, this curiosity may become less prominent. According to the Fruitville Veterinary Clinic, every dog is different, and some may not be naturally curious. Those that are curious as puppies are likely to remain so as they age, though they may not always act on it.

The veterinary website notes that when dogs reach about three years of age, their curiosity about new things starts to decline. This doesn’t mean they stop being curious, but rather that they may not take it as seriously as they once did.

A Viral Sensation

The video quickly gained traction on social media, receiving over 5.2 million views and nearly 400,000 likes on Instagram. Viewers were captivated by Ackley’s antics and his apparent dedication to the renovation project.

One user, Prettyhonestshop, commented: “Hahaha looks in the camera like he’s in an episode of The Office.” Another user, Itsjoitomyworld, wrote: “He’s making sure everything is up to code.” Meanwhile, Umifusion shared: “My dog was like this. We called him the work site supervisor and he was great at his job.”
