Dodge’s New Gas Muscle Car Returns with Authentic Exhaust Roar
  • The 2026 Dodge Charger Sixpack was spotted during a filming session in Detroit.
  • The gasoline-powered performance car is set to be released later this year in a bid to improve poor sales.
  • It is driven by a twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six engine that produces 420 hp and 550 hp.

The Charger Daytonacrashed with a heavy sound as fans who favored Hemi engines walked away from the expensive electric vehicle. Despite five-digit reductions, Dodge only managed to sell 4,299 units in the first six months of the year.

Those are poor figures, but assistance is coming. An electric sedan is set to launch in the second half of this year, along with theCharger Sixpack. The latter is recognized for featuring a twin-turbo 3.0-liter Hurricane inline-six engine that produces 420 hp (313 kW / 426 PS) and 550 hp (410 kW / 558 PS).

Although Dodge has not announced a specific release date, it seems that the day is getting closer as aRedditorSnagged a gas-powered coupe during a commercial filming session. Shot just a short distance from Comerica Park, the video captures the vibrant red coupe speeding down the road and then losing traction on the back end while turning.

Everything took place in the presence of two of Detroit’s top officers while the roads were closed for filming. Speaking of that, if you look carefully, you can spot a drone capturing the whole scene before it departs.

Despite appearing almost exactly like theelectric variant, the Charger Sixpack features a genuine exhaust system rather than the absurd nonsense. It sounds quite good, although nothing will ever match the classic V8 rumble.

We anticipate gaining more information about the vehicle in the next few weeks, but the main uncertainty is the cost. The 2025 Charger Daytona has a starting price of $59,595, which represents a significant rise compared to the 2023 Challenger, which started at $32,800. The gasoline-powered version is expected to be less expensive than the electric vehicle, though this is yet to be confirmed.
