Do Good Wisconsin Delivers 300 School Supply Boxes to Teachers

Volunteers in Wisconsin Deliver Classroom Supplies to Teachers

In a heartwarming gesture of support, volunteers from Do Good Wisconsin recently packed and delivered 300 boxes filled with essential classroom supplies to teachers across the state. The event took place on Saturday, marking another step in the organization’s mission to assist educators in their daily efforts.

“We hope we remind teachers that they’re appreciated, that they are supported, and that we’re here to help them where we can,” said Eric Salzwedel, co-founder of Do Good Wisconsin. The initiative is part of a broader effort to ensure that teachers have access to the tools they need to create engaging learning environments for their students.

Each box is valued at approximately $250 and contains a variety of items such as whiteboard markers, headphones, and other supplies that teachers often purchase out of their own pockets. These materials are crucial for maintaining a well-equipped classroom, especially in times when school budgets may be limited.

Mandy Tukiendorf, a teacher at Northside Intermediate School in Milton and a board member at Do Good Wisconsin, shared her appreciation for the program. “It feels so rewarding to know that there’s people out there supporting teachers, caring about the work that we do, making sure we have what we need to have a successful school year,” she said. Tukiendorf received a box of supplies in 2021, which she described as a meaningful gesture from the community.

The impact of these donations extends beyond just the physical supplies. For many teachers, receiving such support serves as a reminder that their hard work is recognized and valued. It also helps reduce the financial burden that many educators face when purchasing classroom materials.

Do Good Wisconsin has been working tirelessly to make a difference in the lives of teachers and students throughout the state. The organization aims to expand its reach in the future, with the long-term goal of providing a box of supplies to every teacher in Wisconsin who applies for one. This vision reflects the growing recognition of the critical role that educators play in shaping the future of their communities.

As the organization continues to grow, it relies on the support of volunteers and donors who share its mission. By contributing time, resources, or funds, individuals can help ensure that more teachers receive the support they need.

For those interested in getting involved, Do Good Wisconsin encourages community members to reach out and learn more about how they can contribute. Whether through volunteering, donating supplies, or spreading awareness, everyone has a role to play in supporting educators.

The success of this initiative highlights the power of collective action and the importance of fostering a supportive environment for teachers. As more people become aware of the challenges educators face, the demand for such programs is likely to increase. With continued efforts, organizations like Do Good Wisconsin can make a lasting impact on the education system in Wisconsin and beyond.
