Disney is intensifying its focus on nostalgia to entice fans to return to the Walt Disney World Resort.

They recently revealed a new animated experience located in the historic animation building, with the whole Animation Courtyard set to be transformed into a Disney Studios theme.
To add to it, they are somewhat reviving the Sorcerer Mickey hat, but not quite as it was before. This new version will be inspired by the animation building in California. It’s not exactly the same as the one that once stood in front of the Chinese Theater, but it’s still a sorcerer’s hat.

These modifications are set to be implemented in 2026.
Long ago, the Star Wars Launchbay was known as “The Magic of Disney Animation.”
In the initial years of Disney’s Hollywood Studios, visitors had the opportunity to explore an active animation studio.
As a budding animator back then, it was one of my most cherished spots on earth.

Now it’s reverting to its animation origins asThe Enchantment of Disney Animation.
Our tale in this newly redesigned environment starts with the animators having taken a temporary break… yet the building remains full of energy as the characters have come to life and are eager to play!
Inside, you’ll engage with and discover humorous interpretations of the famous Disney Animation headquarters, featuring various studio departments. This time, some of our beloved friends have taken charge to design the exciting experiences.
The fun and engaging experiences will be waiting around every corner. You’ll witness portraits spring to life right before your eyes, just as they did in “Once Upon A Studio;” you’ll discover inspiration through a short film (with a twist, naturally); and you’ll evenpencil in a little while, learn how to create your own character sketch.”
A new entertainment space will also be introduced, named “Drawn to Wonderland”

It will feature a large flower garden theme along with a Mad Tea Party play area, and a Tulgey Wood exploration zone influenced by Mary Blair’s “Alice in Wonderland” concept art.
Animation Courtyard will be rebranded as “The Walt Disney Studios”

The remainder of the courtyard will be reimagined as a space that evokes the real Walt Disney Studios in Burbank.
“The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure” building will be designed to look like the Studio Theater.
A “soundstage” zone will accommodate a new Disney Jr. program.
To create space for the updates, the Animation Courtyard and Disney Jr. Play and Dance! will shut down starting on September 25, 2025.
At this time, Walt Disney Presents and “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure” will continue to be accessible to visitors.
