Authorities say one person has died following an early morning crash in Newberry County.
Master Trooper William Bennett with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 6:40 a.m. on S.C. Highway 56 near Davenport Farm Lane. Bennett said a 2024 Ford Mustang was heading east on S.C. Highway 56 when it ran off the left side of the road, struck a ditch and flipped.
The driver was the only person in the vehicle and died at the scene of the crash. Bennett said the South Carolina Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash. The Newberry County Coroner’s Office has not yet identified the deceased.
