Pakistan, June 22 — Deputy Commissioner Matiari, Muhammad Yousuf Shaikh, has said that mango as a fruit is the identity of this region and holds significant economic value, which is why, this exhibition has been organized to highlight its importance.
He stated that mango production is not only a major source of local income but also needs to meet international standards to access global markets.
DC further said that the handicrafts of Matiari are a centuries-old cultural heritage, and such platforms are essential to introduce them to the world and showcase how talented and skilled the people of Sindh truly are.
He expressed these views during the inaugural ceremony of the 2nd Mango and Handicrafts Expo 2025, held at H.T. Sorley Hall, Bhit Shah, on the first day of the event.
The ceremony began with Deputy Commissioner Matiari Muhammad Yousuf Shaikh cutting the ribbon to formally open the expo. Following the inauguration, he visited various stalls displaying mango varieties, handicrafts, and other local products. He appreciated the hard work and talent of the artisans, farmers, and craftsmen involved.
On this occasion, students from different schools presented colorful and culturally rich tableaus, which were warmly appreciated by the attendees.
