David Prescott Claims Victory in Amarillo City Council Runoff

The new Amarillo City Council is set.

David Prescott
defeated Councilman
Tom Scherlen i
n the runoff.

He won with 50.28 percent of the vote. Prescott had 4,660 votes to Scherlen’s 4,609.

Scherlen was seeking a second term. With his loss, two new members join the council, including Tim Reid.

Reid won the race for Josh Craft’s vacated seat in May.

They join
Mayor Cole Stanley
,
Les Simpson, and Don Tipps
, who are all in their second terms. Tipps ran unopposed.
