We see it in the movies and on television all the time. Those sweet, awkward moments when our favorite characters fall in love for the first time. From Mike and Eleven on the Netflix series
Stranger Things to
Cady and Aaron in the 2004 film
Mean Girls,
we can’t get enough of the obsession and insecurity that hovers over first-time love.
For sure, falling in love often results in a tidal wave of emotions. And
one puppy
in particular is experiencing all the feels in what might be described as a love-at-first-sight moment.
Meet Colson, an
English Cream Longhaired
Miniature Dachshund
, who by all accounts is absolutely smitten with his reflection!
“This is what love looks like,” said the little mushball’s proud pet parent in an adorable TikTok clip.
His lovable little body is just the cutest, and we can’t get enough of that adorable snarf and tiny tail! Those miniature legs are just so sweet as he scoots around, checking out that doppelganger dog from all angles.
Is Colson consumed by joy at the sight of this winsome creature in the mirror? Is he experiencing a certain type of doggie euphoria? Maybe he’s feeling a jolt of excitement at the sight of such a heavenly pup!

Or maybe he’s just feeling the nervousness of first-time love. Could there be butterflies in his tiny tummy? Is his heart racing? He’s probably unsure of what to say or do, as billions of pets and their parents have previously experienced.
Yes, this is certainly what first-time love looks like. But another thing we appear to see in this clip is a pocket-sized
Golden Retriever

Well, it’s not!
Both Golden Retrievers and
Longhaired Dachshunds
are known for their long, silky fur.
English Cream Goldens
have thick, creamy coats, while Longhaired Dachshunds have smooth, feathery fur, especially on their ears and tails. Both have feathered fur on their legs, chests, and tails, giving them a similar soft, sweet appearance, despite their size difference!
