Crispy Air-Fried Crumb Chicken: The Ultimate Aussie Favorite

Ingredients


125g pack of garlic and herb butter

4 medium boneless chicken breasts

2 cups panko breadcrumbs

¼ cup mayonnaise

500g green beans, steamed

Method


Step 1

Divide the butter into 4 equal parts. Chill for 30 minutes.

Step 2

In the meantime, position a chicken breast between two pieces of baking parchment, then gently pound it with a mallet until it reaches a thickness of about 1 centimeter. Set this aside on a plate and continue repeating this process for each additional chicken breast you have.


Step 3

Put the breadcrumbs into a wide dish. Add some salt and pepper for seasoning. Position a pat of butter at the center of every chicken fillet. Bring the edges inward to create logs, ensuring they’re securely sealed. Use toothpicks to hold them together firmly. Coat all pieces uniformly with mayonnaise before rolling them thoroughly in the breadcrumb mixture.


Step 4

Slightly coat a 7-litre air fryer basket with oil. Put the chicken inside the basket and spray it well. Cook at 180°C for 20-25 minutes until the chicken turns golden brown and is fully done. Take out the toothpicks from the chicken before serving.


Step 5

Accompany with steamed green beans.
