Celebrating Billy Joel: Elio Pace’s Eastleigh Tribute

Elio Pace Extends The Billy Joel Songbook Tour with a Special Southampton Show

Following a series of sold-out tours across the UK and Europe, celebrated singer-songwriter and pianist Elio Pace has announced an extension to his highly acclaimed show, The Billy Joel Songbook. This special performance will now include a date in Southampton, marking a unique hometown event for Elio, who was raised in Eastleigh.

Originally planned as a 20-date run this autumn, the tour has been extended into next year, with an additional 14 dates added. One of these new performances will take place at the Mayflower Theatre on Sunday, March 15. Tickets for the 2026 dates are now available online at eliopace.com/tours.

A Celebration of Billy Joel’s Legacy

The Billy Joel Songbook is a tribute to one of the most iconic musicians of the 20th century. The show is described as the ultimate love letter to Billy Joel’s genius, taking audiences on a journey through five decades of his greatest hits.

Elio and his band deliver more than 30 songs from Joel’s extensive repertoire of 82 singles, including fan favourites such as The Longest Time, She’s Always A Woman, An Innocent Man, Uptown Girl, and Piano Man. Each performance captures the essence of Joel’s music, resonating deeply with fans of all ages.

A Response That Surpassed Expectations

Elio expressed his excitement about the tour’s success, stating: “We were completely blown away by the response to the 2025 dates — the demand has been truly incredible.”

He continued: “Every time we take this show on the road, I’m reminded of the deep connection people have with Billy Joel’s music. Extending the tour into 2026 is an honour we don’t take lightly. And to be bringing the show back to Southampton, my hometown, makes it all the more special.”

A Growing Legacy

Over the past three years, The Billy Joel Songbook has played more than 50 sold-out shows across various venues. In early 2024, a special recording of the full show was broadcast on BBC Sounds, coinciding with Billy Joel’s 75th birthday.

Elio shared his reflections on the show’s growth: “When I first created The Billy Joel Songbook, I hoped it would strike a chord — but I never imagined it would grow like this.”

He added: “The passion people have for Billy Joel’s music just keeps growing, and I feel so grateful to be able to celebrate it with audiences.”

A Personal Connection

For Elio, the Mayflower Theatre holds a special place in his heart. “The Mayflower was the first theatre I ever knew growing up in Eastleigh — it’s my hometown stage,” he said.

“Bringing the show there in 2023 was a real career highlight, and to be coming back again to celebrate the music of my greatest hero makes it just as special every time.”

Looking Ahead

With the tour set to continue into 2026, Elio and his band are preparing to bring the magic of Billy Joel’s music to even more fans. The extended schedule offers a chance for those who missed the initial dates to experience the show, while long-time fans can enjoy another round of unforgettable performances.

Whether you’re a lifelong fan of Billy Joel or simply looking for a night of great music, The Billy Joel Songbook promises an evening of nostalgia, energy, and heartfelt tributes to one of the greatest songwriters of all time.
