CDA Lights Up Islamabad for Marka-e-Haq Independence Day Celebrations

The Capital Development Authority (CDA), in alignment with the vision of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and the guidance of Federal Minister for Interior, Mohsin Naqvi, and under the leadership of Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, has launched a remarkable effort to light up Islamabad in honor of Marka-e-Haq and the country’s 78th Independence Day. This project seeks not only to enhance the beauty of the federal capital, Islamabad, but also to promote a sense of unity, national pride, and celebration among its citizens.

In recent weeks, the CDA, DMA, and MCI teams have been tirelessly working around the clock to decorate the city’s key landmarks, government structures, streets, and central areas with lively national flags, eye-catching lighting, and vibrant branding. The aim is to turn Islamabad into a radiant symbol of Pakistan’s dignity and cultural legacy during these important national occasions.

Prominent structures within the Pak Secretariat and Constitution Avenue, such as the Parliament House, Auditor General of Pakistan along with D Chowk, and the Pakistan Monument, as well as the CDA Headquarters, have been adorned with elegant lighting schemes, highlighting the majesty of the city’s architectural features. Major thoroughfares and junctions, including Constitution Avenue, Jinnah Avenue, and Kashmir Highway, are decorated with rows of lights and national flags, forming a magical ambiance for both locals and tourists. Additional focus has also been placed on public areas and urban hubs, where themed decorations and engaging light displays have been set up.

These setups provide a lively setting for scheduled community events, artistic shows, and national festivities, making sure that the festivities connect with people of every age.

The Chairman of the CDA and Chief Commissioner of Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, has highlighted that these beautification and lighting initiatives are a key component of a larger plan to elevate Islamabad’s reputation as a clean, green, and lively capital. ‘Our goal is to transform Islamabad into a city that embodies the essence of the nation – full of energy, vibrancy, and pride,’ he stated.

With the arrival of Marka-e-Haq and Independence Day, the bright streets and impressive landmarks of Islamabad reflect the CDA’s efforts in bringing people together through aesthetics, meaning, and collective national pride. The city’s glowing skyline is expected to evoke happiness, appreciation, and a stronger dedication to the principles on which Pakistan was established.
