The oldest casino in Las Vegasis substituting all human dealers with electronic table games as rising costs and tourist boycotts persist, causing visitors to decrease.
The Golden Gate Hotel & Casino is “reimagining” its gaming area and will stop offering live table dealer games, according to owner and Circa CEO Derek Stevens.
Even though electronic table games have existed in casinos worldwide for many years, the Golden Gate will become the first hotel in downtown Las Vegas to remove human dealers from every table.

“We have consistently welcomed the future, and currently, we are reinventing our casino floor with an energetic electronic table games area that is unlike anything seen in downtown,” Stevens stated in a release.KLAS.

A game not controlled by a dealer is completely automated and virtual, with results decided by a random number generator or an entirely automated system. In such environments, players will only engage with their electronic terminal.
The setup of stadium-style gaming is widely favored by casinos and features a live dealer or digital game shown on a big screen.
Several players join the game from their own devices, fostering a shared environment.
Supporters of digital table games argue that they increase the availability of casino gambling because of their reduced minimum wager and intuitive designs.
Professionals suggest that players perceive an electronic interface as less daunting, provides greater confidentiality, and is simpler to transition between games.
However, the main incentive for moving away from conventional table games to electronic ones is probably the financial advantage that casinos will gain.
A Las Vegas casino table employee typically earns between $22,500 and $40,000 per year, as reported by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics in 2023.
Several casinos in Las Vegas have already started eliminating $5 and $10 minimum bets at physical tables, theLas-Vegas Review Journal reports.
Income generated from low-value tables is said to not cover the casino’s hourly expense for a dealer, or three dealers at a craps table.
It remains uncertain how much it costs to purchase and maintain an electronic table game, but a study by the Market Statsville Group revealed that these devices considerably reduce labor costs.
Electronic games also generate higher revenue and greater coin-in because of their lower minimum bets and quicker gameplay, according to the report.

The city received only 3.39 million tourists in March, a decrease of nearly eight percent compared to 3.68 million in February.
In April, there were slightly more than 3.3 million visitors, representing a decrease of 5.1 percent compared to the previous year. During the same month, hotel occupancy reached 82.9 percent, down from 85.3 percent in March 2024.
Midweek occupancy fell by 2.5 percent during the same timeframe, even though over half a million individuals participated in conferences.
In June, there was a reported 11.3 percent decrease in visitors compared to June 2024, while travel to the city from abroad has declined by 10 percent.
Stevens last week criticized claims that tourism in Las Vegas has reached a ‘significant low’, statingFox Newsthat he believes the data is ‘somewhat inflated’.
“In certain areas, such as where we are at Circa Las Vegas in the downtown region — I believe people perceive there might be slightly better value. Business was really thriving,” Stevens stated.
The casino executive acknowledged that international tourism is experiencing a decrease, but he attributes this mainly to the broader global economy and fluctuations in currency exchange rates.
Stevens also forecasted that “within six months, I will feel that Las Vegas tourism and our economy as a whole will be significantly improved.”
