Titled “Cosmic Carpark Paintings,” this groundbreaking series marks a bold shift from his musical career. The collection, created during his Mathematics tour, was born in an unexpected setting—a disused central London car park. Each piece reflects a unique blend of abstract expression and cosmic inspiration, showcasing Sheeran’s creative versatility.
A Unique Creative Process
The artworks are a mix of original canvases and limited edition prints, each one crafted with meticulous attention to detail. Every brushstroke comes directly from Sheeran himself, highlighting his deep passion for art. The process began after the end of his Divide Tour in 2019, when he found solace in painting as a creative outlet.
Sheeran has always had a connection to the arts. Growing up, both of his parents worked in the field, which naturally sparked his interest. He often spent time studying art at school, and that passion never faded.

During his tours, he used any spare time in the UK to paint. Each morning, he would head to a disused car park in Soho, spend hours creating, and then return home before heading back on the road. This routine continued until he was ready to embark on another leg of his tour.
Support from Influential Friends
His journey into the art world took a significant turn when he shared his work with two close friends—British artist Damien Hirst and producer Joe Hage. Their encouragement played a crucial role in motivating him to take the next step and launch his own collection.
This initiative is not just about art; it also has a deeper purpose. All proceeds from the sale of original pieces will go to the Ed Sheeran Foundation, which focuses on supporting music education across the UK. Additionally, £300 from each print sold will contribute to funding grassroots music projects, schools, and community groups.
A Celebration of Creativity and Giving Back
In a recent interview, Sheeran reflected on the significance of this venture. “I’ve always been interested in art, and I’ve used painting as a way to express myself,” he said. “It’s something I’ve done since the end of my Divide Tour, and it’s become a big part of my life.”
He added, “I want to thank Damien and Joe for their support. It means a lot to me, and I’m really excited to be able to share this exhibition with everyone.”
The exhibition, “Cosmic Carpark Paintings,” will be on display at the HENI Gallery on Lexington Street in London from July 11 to August 1. It offers a rare opportunity to see the artistic side of one of the most celebrated musicians of our time.
For fans and art enthusiasts alike, this event is more than just a showcase—it’s a celebration of creativity, generosity, and the power of art to inspire and uplift.
