In a post made across his social media channels, Kyagulanyi referred to Prof.
Wole Soyinka stands as a literary giant whose pen was wielded like a spear, unveiling injustice and motivating numerous individuals to strive for equity and fairness.
“Yesterday evening, we bid farewell to a colossal figure. Professor NgÅ©gÄ© wa Thiong’o used his pen as a weapon: unveiling injustice and motivating countless individuals to stand up for equity. His writings transcended mere literature; they served as blueprints for freedom,” stated Kyagulanyi.
The opposing party’s leader offered their sympathies to the citizens of Kenya and everyone who supports liberty, referring to the deceased writer as a “trailblazing narrator and a distinguished child of Africa.”
“I extend my sympathies to Kenyans and everyone who values liberty upon the loss of this revolutionary storyteller and esteemed African son. Though his words continue to inspire us to create the equitable and just world he envisioned, may Professor Ngũgĩ rest in enduring influence,” he concluded.
NgÅ©gÄ© wa Thiong’o, who died at the age of 86, was among Africa’s most renowned authors and thinkers.
