The daughter of popular TikToker Faustine Likale, Talisha Truphena, has left Kenyans emotional after penning a moving tribute in memory of her late mum, while also celebrating her step mum.
The touching message came shortly after her dad, popularly known as Baba Talisha, hosted close friends, family, and celebrity guests at his home to celebrate the birth of his newborn son with his current partner, who is also Talisha’s stepmum.
How did Talisha honour late mum and step mum?
After the event, Talisha took to Instagram, where she shared a heartfelt message reflecting on the loss of her biological mum while expressing deep gratitude to her stepmother.
“It’s been almost 5 years since I lost my mom, and not a day goes by without thinking of her. But in that pain, God gave me another blessing, a woman who stepped in with grace, love, and a mother’s heart,” she wrote.
In her emotional post, the young girl praised her stepmother for being present, supportive, and nurturing in every way.
“To my stepmom, thank you for walking this journey with me, for loving me like your own, and for holding my hand when I felt lost. Your presence has filled so many silent gaps with warmth and strength. You’ve shown me that motherhood isn’t just about blood — it’s about sacrifice, patience, and presence.”
How did Talisha’s mum die?
Talisha’s story of loss and healing has struck a chord with many Kenyans who recall the heartbreaking accident that took her mum’s life back in August 2020.
The tragic incident occurred along Thika Road as the family was heading home to Githurai 45 after a photography assignment.
Baba Talisha was driving their family car, with his wife seated in the front passenger seat, holding a sleeping Talisha in her arms.
Another car rammed into them, forcing their vehicle into a second one.
The impact was devastating, claiming the life of Mama Talisha on the spot.
Talisha also sustained injuries in the crash but survived.
Since then, Baba Talisha has often honoured his late wife’s memory publicly, frequently marking her death anniversary and occasionally visiting the site of the crash to pay tribute.
