Oyinkansola Aderibigbe, popularly known as Ayra Starr, has received backlash over a statement she made after the tragic Benue killings.
The singer on Sunday night wrote casually on her X handle after her birthday celebration on Saturday. This prompted another user to call her out, stating that she needs to read the room.
Ayra’s
response
then caused other users to call her out, describing her statement as insensitive.
“We are not in the same room babes” she wrote.
In the midst of the backlash she was receiving, the singer then took to her X page to defend herself, stating that people should focus on what matters and leave her alone.
“There’s nothing I can do nor say to people that intentionally want to bully and misunderstand me every time , you’ve found a scapegoat abi ? Focus on issues that actually matter and leave me tf alone,” Ayra wrote.
