In the real world, Andy Cohen spends his days hosting Bravo‘s Watch What Happens Live and wrangling/provoking shouty women on Real Housewives reunions. But in the Sex and the City universe, Cohen has spent the last 21 years working as a footwear salesperson who is on a first-name basis with Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker).

The Bravolebrity appeared briefly in Thursday’s episode ofHBO Max‘s SATC sequel And Just Like That, during a scene set in the shoe department of an upscale department store. “Hey Carrie! I’m swamped, but I’ll be with you in a minute,” he says, rushing past Miss Bradshaw while carrying a pile of shoeboxes. “Oh, thanks,” she says. “I’m just browsing today, Daniel.”

EW can verify that “Daniel” is indeed the same shoe salesman that Cohen portrayed in 2004, during season 6.SATCepisode “Let There Be Light.” In one of the subplots from that episode, Charlotte (Kristin Davis) attempts to volunteer with an organization that offers guidance for the visually impaired. The coordinator (Bayne Gibby) tells her to go to a public location while blindfolded and have a friend guide her around so she can experience navigating the world without sight. Naturally, Charlotte picks Barneys department store, and she brings Carrie along as her guide. Naturally, Carrie becomes distracted and strays off to the shoe section — where Andy Cohen’s salesperson helps her try on a bunch of high heels.

This time, Carrie is looking through the shoe section in a far less humorous situation. In Thursday’s episode ofAnd Just Like That, she and Aidan (John Corbett) get into a disagreement regarding Carrie’s downstairs neighbor, Duncan (Jonathan Cake) — and Aidan’s concerns that Carrie and her fellow writer have more than a professional connection.

After yelling at each other in the kitchen, Carrie takes a walk to calm down and ends up looking at shoes at Daniel’s workplace. The episode concludes with Carrie and Aidan breaking up once more. Will this third separation be the one that works for these mismatched partners? No matter what occurs, we can be sure that Daniel will always be there to comfort Carrie with some shopping therapy.

And Just Like That airs on Thursdays on HBO Max.
