AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) – The Amarillo College Fire Academy will soon be holding practice sessions for their upcoming physical ability test.
These practice sessions will take place on July 9 and 12 at 9 a.m.
The test, which is among the requirements for admission, involves prospective students engaging in simulated fire-scene activities.
AC Fire Coordinator Steve Malley is encouraging those who may be on the fence to give the program a chance.
“What other job after two semesters can you go out and actually make an impact on the world?” said Malley. “The very first week you’re at work, you can do something that changes somebody’s world, and there’s just not a lot of jobs out there like that.”
The official tests for admission will take place on July 26 and August 2.
The Amarillo College Regional Fire Academy is at 3891 Plains Blvd.
