The 2025 Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF), scheduled to take place between May 31 and July 12, will feature the theme “Da Nang – A New Dawn”. It promises spectacular and unexpected shows for viewers.
The preparations for the opening ceremony were bustling at the fireworks location beside the Han River on May 28. Both teams starting this year’s event, Finland and Vietnam, are diligently striving to present the most spectacular shows to the spectators.
Even with the sweltering summer temperatures, the Finnish squad carefully organized more than 15,000 fireworks and refined their control mechanisms. Their captain, Johan, mentioned that retaining the DIFF 2024 championship crown presents a significant challenge, particularly due to stiffer rivalry this season.
In the meantime, the Da Nang squad will launch more than 5,000 fireworks spread across 100 displays set to an upbeat rock playlist featuring both Vietnamese and global tunes.
The inauguration event, set for 8 p.m. on May 31, will include an array of fireworks along with a musical extravaganza featuring prominent Vietnamese performers such as Tung Duong, Kieu Anh, Nguyen Tran Trung Quan, Thu Hang, alongside emcees Anh Tuan and Luong Thuy Linh.
In its inaugural edition, DIFF 2025 will introduce augmented reality (AR) technology, enabling attendees to engage with iconic landmarks of Da Nang within a simulated space covering 600,000 square meters and featuring 10 million pixels. This cutting-edge offering marks an unparalleled immersive experience at any firework show in Vietnamese history.
