A 34-year-old man, who was not wearing his seatbelt while driving, died in an accident on Hecksher Drive on Monday.
The driver swerved onto the right shoulder, then oversteered, resulting in his vehicle moving into the westbound lane toward an SUV, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
The two cars apparently crashed into each other in what is known as an “offset front-end collision.”
According to the report, the victim wasn’t wearing a seat belt and was thrown out of the vehicle. He succumbed to his wounds as a result.
The operator of the SUV, a 57-year-old individual hailing from Jacksonville, also sustained serious injuries.
