Kettering Health Restores Services as Parts Come Back Online in Less Than a Week

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Just days before
A cyberattack caused many of its services to go down.
Some sections of Kettering Health are returning earlier than anticipated.

On Monday, the healthcare provider stated that their Radiation Oncology equipment had been restored and was operational again only five days following the assault on May 20.

“We managed to go back online within five days after the event began, allowing us to resume treatment for patients with active radiotherapy plans,” stated Dr. Anthony Paravati, a radiation oncologist.

‘Very friendly people’: NATO representatives departing from Dayton express gratitude for the city’s contribution.

This weekend marks Memorial Day.
They are giving up their vacation days, sacrificing time with their loved ones for our patients, for the mission.

At a press conference on Friday
A spokesperson for Kettering Health mentioned that the consultants they spoke with predicted a timeframe of 10-21 days to restore operations.

“Today marks Day Three,” stated John Weimer, who serves as the senior vice president and leads the Incident Command team.

One member of the Radiation Oncology team described the frenzied renovation as “remarkable.”

“You have hundreds of individuals working round the clock, and to possess just one linear accelerator, followed by two, then three, with everything operational, is truly remarkable,” stated technical physicist Christopher Wennerstrom.

“The team is essentially leaving no stone unturned to ensure the best care possible for these patients,” says Sarah Macke, a radiation oncologist.
