Couple Stunned to Discover They Naturally Had Quadruplets: ‘I Never Expected Four!’

This family has four times the cuteness.

A pair from New Jersey has overcome the odds, giving birth to four babies — all conceived without medical assistance.

Aja, also known as Asia, Kennon and her fiancé, Emmanuel Volmar, recently joined the ranks of a select few worldwide who have undergone such a remarkable pregnancy this month.

Kennon and Volmar were thrilled to grow their family — which already had an 8-year-old son named EJ — when they unexpectedly discovered she was pregnant. She thought it could be twins because her belly had become so big, but she was shocked when she saw three heads on the ultrasound.

I didn’t expect it to be four!” Kennon said to The Post. “This was a surprise.

However, it was a group of four unique faces, verifying an uncommon occurrence with probabilities between one in 700,000 and one in a million,doctors said.

The delivery on July 1 was a remarkable occurrence, with over 20 healthcare specialists involved — each infant had a specialized medical team at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey.

“A full football team was inside,” Volmar joked.

Kennon quickly delivered one healthy baby following another, each born approximately a minute apart, beginning at 10:59 a.m. The miraculous infants were all taken home immediately, safe and well.

The three boys — Ean, Evan, and Eamon — have the same first letter “E” as their father, whereas their daughter, Alayha, has an “A” that matches her mother’s.

Due to the presence of twins in both her and Volmar’s families, it seemed destined — however, since they found out about the quadruplets on April Fools’ Day, others initially didn’t take them seriously.

Perhaps even more surprising, Kennon experienced no complications during her high-risk pregnancy. She continued working full-time as a USPS mail carrier until seven months into her pregnancy and believes all the walking was beneficial.

“I was surprised by how straightforward this pregnancy was,” Kennon admitted, noting that her first one was more challenging, as EJ had to be induced.

Even though caring for four babies is extremely challenging, the couple stays remarkably composed.

“Once we discovered we were expecting quadruplets, we quickly got things moving. From the moment we found out, we were just like, ‘Okay, let’s get the show on the road,’” Kennon said.

The couple is currently experiencing a mix of happiness and uncertainty as they start raising the newborns along with their child in elementary school. The family, who originally expected to have just one more child, had to quickly adapt to the situation of having four cribs, four times as many diapers — and a completely new way of life.

They have also chosen to postpone the wedding until all their children are able to walk down the aisle and take part.

However, thanks to their advance planning and support network — Volmar’s mother has fortunately moved in for the time being — they have adapted to parenting five children quite smoothly.

Reality check: Dad does acknowledge that the feeding routine is particularly challenging.

“It’s never-ending, and before you realize, it’s time to feed them once more,” Volmar said to The Post.

But even EJ has willingly taken on the task, offering to feed the babies and change their diapers. And although he loves all his siblings equally, he has a special spot in his heart for his sister.

“He’s very gentle with his sister, as if he’ll make sure to kiss her on the head,” Kennon said.

To alleviate the financial pressure, the family has initiated aGoFundMe campaignto pay for medical bills, travel, and the expenses related to looking after four babies.

“We are extremely happy, full of love and appreciation — but we would be dishonest if we claimed we weren’t also feeling overwhelmed,” Kennon wrote on the page.

Their community has come together in support as the news has spread. Facebook groups for moms in the New Jersey area have filled the comment sections of posts sharing the information.

A woman who Kennon hasn’t spoken to since high school even contacted him and requested to organize a meal train to provide assistance.

Luckily, due to their prior planning and community assistance, they have adjusted well to parenting five children.

According to BECUand the National Diaper Bank Network, they may spend approximately $4,000 annually on diapers exclusively.

But fortunately, they haven’t had to purchase diapers or wipes so far: They have a closet stocked with items—all given or donated.

Everyone was just as surprised as we were when we discovered it,” Kennon remarked with humor, “We’re pretty much the focus of everyone’s attention.
