4H Student Constructs Life-Size Horse Digestive System Model

MINOT, N.D. (KMOT) – The fair offers an excellent opportunity for education and creativity to come together.

One member of 4H is gaining attention with a full-scale representation of a horse’s digestive system.

A 12-year-old girl named Aurora Kiser from Ransom County showcased this project via a speech she composed and was awarded the top prize in her category.

Her mentor, Breana Kiser, who is also her aunt, mentioned that each artwork provides a visual representation of how the horse processes food and the actual size of their internal organs.

They incorporated a trash can, a fuel tank, and a garden hose, along with various other items, to construct the model.

“The best part was after she completed it, watching her develop and answer questions without needing the material in front of her or even this [the screen] in front of her. She recalls every detail and what she learned from it,” said Breana.

The screen also assists individuals in recognizing how horses may become sick from their consumption, and how this can be prevented.
