Graham Named Dundee United Captain

He has grown alongside us, fought for us, and now he will guide us.

“Natural leader” Ross Graham has been named captain of his childhood club Dundee United.

The club’s first locally developed captain this century is a graduate of the academy who inked his initial professional deal seven years back.

He gained experience by playing on loan at Elgin City, Cove Rangers, and Dunfermline Athletic, then returned to United and became an essential part of the defense.

Manager Jim Goodwin mentions that defender Graham, who will be supported by vice-captain Will Ferry, “represents all that this football club stands for.”

“He’s a born leader, whether he’s on or off the field,” Goodwin stated.

Ross personifies all the qualities we desire from this football club – perseverance, enthusiasm, and a strong bond with our essence.

Ross is aware of the duties that accompany the captain’s armband, and with the strong backing of Will and the rest of the team, I am confident he will excel in this position.

He has grown alongside us, fought for us, and now he will guide us.

It’s a moment Graham, 24, has envisioned since he was a young child visiting Tannadice, and the former Scotland Under-21 player feels he is “the right person” to guide his team forward.

It is a genuine privilege to assume this position,” he stated. “I have longed for this opportunity since I was a child visiting Tannadice.

It’s rare to witness players emerging from an academy and later leading the club as captain, so I’m truly honored that I’ve been able to achieve this.

There have been ups and downs throughout the journey, but my dedication over the years has finally yielded results.

I am familiar with the club thoroughly and understand its significance to our fans, so I believe I am the ideal person for the role.
