LOUISVILLE, KY (WCIA) — Tanner Thomas has been committed to the Louisville baseball team since 2021.
He is getting ready for his first season with the Cardinals. As a freshman, his main goal is to support the team in whatever capacity he can.
They often do a good job of providing opportunities to new pitchers throughout the season since there are so many games,” Thomas said. “I believe I’ll get the chance to pitch; I just need to take full advantage of it.
During his high school years, he participated in four various sports: baseball, basketball, track, and two years of football.
The opportunity to advance to the next level enables him to focus on baseball.
“Actually being able to concentrate on baseball for the first time in my life, without having to play other sports, is probably what I’m most excited about,” Thomas said.
Thomas wishes to one day also play in the outfield.
On the mound, he pitches a fastball, curveball, changeup, and slider, reaching speeds up to 93 mph.
