A water dragon is running wild near the Connecticutborder, as stated by the Massachusetts Environmental Police, or MEP, on Monday.
The 5-foot-long reptile is reported missing in Webster, Massachusetts, which is adjacent to Thompson, Connecticut.
The MEP mentioned that the lizard was last seen on Friday night along Blueberry Lane in Webster, and there have been no additional sightings reported.
They characterized the animal as black with white scars. MEP mentioned that it feeds on rodents and enjoys sunny areas, swimming pools, and tree climbing.
Although they mentioned it is not aggressive, individuals should avoid approaching and maintain a safe distance.
Webster, Massachusetts Animal Control mentioned they conducted a limited search in the vicinity, with police examining nearby pools. The operation was discontinued because the lizard had been missing for an extended period.

As per MEP, it is against the law to own a water monitor lizard in Massachusetts without proper permission.
Animal control reported that the animal is still roaming near Blueberry Lane, which is located off Upper Gore. They advised individuals in the vicinity to monitor their patios, pool areas, and backyards, and to reach out to them or the police department if it is seen.
