It’s that time of year when airlines update their winter schedules.
Hawaiian is the most recent carrier to reveal modifications that involvehigher frequency flights on well-traveled routes from Honolulu (HNL) to Los Angeles, Seattle, and Sydney.
“These improvements to the schedule demonstrate our dedication to offering easy and pleasant travel experiences during the most hectic time of the year,” said Kirsten Amrine, vice president of revenue management and network planning at Alaska Airlines.
Let’s examine the specifics.
Higher Winter Frequencies for Hawaiian to LAX, SEA, and SYD
The main reason Hawaiianis including additional flights from Honolulu toLos Angeles (LAX), Seattle (SEA), and Sydney (SYD) is to address the typical rise in travel demand during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year.
Starting Friday, November 21, a wide-body Dreamliner will take the place of the narrow-body Airbus A321neo.which operates Hawaiian Airlines’ daily 9 a.m. flight from Honolulu to Seattle. The plane returns to Honolulu at 6 p.m., arriving at 10:13 p.m. This willboost the daily capacity on the route by 111 seats.

Also on November 21, Hawaiian Airlines will launch a fifth daily flight connecting Honolulu and Los Angeles. The extra service will continue until December 1, 2025, using the airline’s Airbus A321neo. The fifth service will resume again from December 19, 2025, through January 6, 2026.
Additional flights will also be introduced on Hawaiian’s route between Honolulu andSydney. Starting December 18, 2025, and ending January 31, 2026, Hawaiian will increase its activitiesfrom 5 services each week to daily. This aligns with the prolonged Australian summer vacation period.
And lastly, Hawaiian will enhance the aircraft on itsRecently unveiled service connecting Seattle and Tokyo (NRT)to its main Boeing 787 Dreamliner. This plane includes the airline’sLeihōkū Suites— its top-tier business-class offering.
