COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – A World War II Marine from the Midlands received a military medal during an unexpected ceremony on Wednesday.
Larry Pressley is among the earliest World War II “atomic veterans” and received an Atomic Veterans Commemorative Service Medal.
The unexpected celebration organized by Pressley was planned by Victoria Kelly and Karin Tanabe, who are behind an upcoming PBS documentary titled “Atomic Echoes: Untold Stories of World War II.”
Pressley is set to appear in the documentary, which will debut on August 1.
