Casio Launches Durable G-Shock Models in US Range

New Full-Metal G-Shock Watches from Casio

Casio has recently introduced two new all-metal G-Shock watches to its lineup in the US: the GMW-B5000D-1C and the GM-B2100SD-1C. These models are based on classic G-Shock designs and are manufactured in Japan at Casio’s Yamagata factory, known for its high-quality craftsmanship.

Design and Features of the GMW-B5000D-1C

The GMW-B5000D-1C is a modern take on the original DW-5000C model. It retains the iconic brick pattern, “SHOCK RESIST” logo, and layout that have become synonymous with G-Shock. The watch features a full-metal body with a stainless-steel bezel and case. To enhance durability, fine resin buffers are placed between the bezel and case to absorb impact. A three-pronged lug design helps distribute shocks across the connecting pipes, ensuring the watch remains intact even under harsh conditions.

The case back uses a screw-lock structure for a tight seal, making it more resistant to water and dust. The GMW-B5000D-1C supports solar-powered timekeeping, which ensures the watch remains accurate without the need for frequent battery changes. Additionally, it includes Bluetooth and radio control for improved accuracy. The Super Illuminator feature provides excellent visibility in low-light conditions, making it ideal for various environments.

Design and Features of the GM-B2100SD-1C

The GM-B2100SD-1C features a black dial with red, yellow, and blue accents. These colors are inspired by the first G-Shock, symbolizing shock resistance, water resistance, and boldness. The watch has an octagonal bezel and a finely textured dial with grind-mark finishing and vapor deposition, giving it a unique and sophisticated look.

Like the 5000 series, the GM-B2100SD-1C also includes fine resin buffers between the bezel and case, a three-pronged band structure, and a screw-lock case back. These design elements ensure the watch maintains its durability and functionality while offering a stylish appearance.

Manufacturing Process

Both models undergo a meticulous forging, cutting, and polishing process to shape the bezel and case. The bezel top has a brushed finish, while the beveled edges are polished for contrast, adding to the overall aesthetic appeal. The metal bands feature dimples that mirror the look of the original resin bands, maintaining a connection to the brand’s heritage.

Pricing and Availability

The GMW-B5000D-1C and GM-B2100SD-1C are priced at $550 each and are available now on Casio USA’s website. These models represent a significant step forward in the evolution of G-Shock watches, combining advanced technology with the iconic design that has made the brand a favorite among watch enthusiasts.
