Police Arrest Suspected Chinese Killers

Arrest of Suspects in the Murder of a Chinese National in Nigeria

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has made significant progress in the investigation into the brutal murder of a Chinese national, Chen Wang. Two key suspects have been arrested and are currently in police custody. The individuals identified are 25-year-old Yunusa Abdullahi from Borno State and 20-year-old Peace Keno Danlami from Taraba State.

Wang, who was employed by WH Great Resource Ltd. in Ogere, Ogun State, was found dead in his office on January 12, 2025. His death sent shockwaves through the local community and prompted an immediate and intensive investigation by law enforcement authorities.

Following months of coordinated intelligence operations and surveillance, the suspects were finally arrested on July 14, 2025, in Jos, Plateau State. This arrest came after a long and meticulous effort by the police to track down the individuals involved in the crime.

Details of the Crime

According to the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the incident began with a distress call that led officers of the Ogun State Police Command to the scene. There, they discovered Wang’s lifeless body with multiple stab wounds to the chest.

ACP Adejobi stated: “His killing immediately triggered a high-level investigation. In line with the strategic policing directives of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, the Force mobilized its Technical Intelligence Unit (TIU) to support the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Eleweran, Ogun State.”

The operation involved a combination of digital forensics, biometric tracking, and human intelligence to gather evidence and trace the suspects.

The Role of the Suspects

According to the police findings, both suspects were factory workers at WH Great Resource Ltd. It is believed that the pair, who were reportedly in a romantic relationship, took advantage of the reduced workforce on the day of the incident. They allegedly disabled the company’s security systems and unlawfully gained access to Wang’s office.

Once inside, the duo allegedly stabbed Wang to death. They then stole keys to his residence and proceeded to burglarize his home before fleeing the state with cash and valuables.

The suspects later went into hiding, adopting false identities in Jos. Their eventual capture was the result of the collaborative efforts between the Force headquarters team and the Ogun SCID.

Ongoing Investigations and Legal Proceedings

The FPRO confirmed that the arrested suspects are currently in police custody. They will be formally charged in court once the ongoing investigations are concluded. The police have emphasized their commitment to ensuring justice is served and that all relevant evidence will be thoroughly examined.

This case highlights the importance of effective law enforcement strategies and the use of modern investigative techniques to bring criminals to justice. The arrest of the suspects marks a significant step forward in the pursuit of accountability for the tragic death of Chen Wang.
