On Monday, July 14, Lauren Branning (played by Jacqueline Jossa) is caught off guard when she receives an unexpected phone call. Soon after, she finds herself face-to-face with her younger brother, Oscar Branning (Pierre Moullier). Oscar was last seen on the show in 2017 during a brief visit to see his father, Max Branning (Jake Wood), on Father’s Day. Now, he has grown into a 17-year-old teenager and is about to disrupt Lauren’s life in ways she never anticipated.
During their reunion, Lauren quickly discovers what Oscar has been up to and why he can’t return home. He also reconnects with his uncle Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) and the rest of the family. However, instead of a warm welcome, Oscar launches an emotional blackmail campaign to convince Lauren to let him stay in Walford.
As Peter Beale (Thomas Law) and his father Ian (Adam Woodyatt) arrive, Lauren finally gives in to Oscar’s request under one condition: he must not cause any trouble. Meanwhile, Oscar receives a mysterious message that suggests he isn’t the innocent boy he claims to be.

Later in the week, Oscar begins to make an impact on the locals. He confides in Jack about his strained relationship with his parents, Max and Tanya. He even comes up with a plan to con Ian out of money by staging a fall at the chippie and demanding compensation, which amuses Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner).
Oscar, known as the resident troublemaker, is given a chance to change his ways by getting a job at the fruit and veg stall. However, his first day takes an unexpected turn when he discovers that his nephew Jimmy is blind.
A Long-Awaited Return for Julie Bates
On Tuesday, July 15, Albert Square welcomes back Julie Bates (Karen Henthorn) after a 27-year absence. Her return quickly leads to conflict with Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden). The week starts with Nigel Bates (Paul Bradley) becoming emotional over a wedding photo of him and his wife Julie.
Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) is surprised when he learns why Nigel left Julie and decides to get involved. The following day, Julie arrives in Albert Square, demanding to know where Nigel is. Jay is forced to break the news to her.
Nigel and Phil are taken aback when Julie confronts them, especially since Nigel fails to recognize her and becomes overwhelmed. An argument ensues between Phil and Julie, leading to an angry outburst from Nigel. Later, Phil shows Julie a video Nigel made for her, explaining his decision to leave. However, Julie informs Phil that she plans to take Nigel back to Scotland.
As the week progresses, Phil and Julie’s disagreements over Julie’s intention to leave Walford with Nigel escalate. Phil struggles with complex emotions while being comforted by Linda Carter (Kellie Bright). Julie delves deeper into the bond between Phil and Nigel with Jay, uncovering more about their recent history.
During another heated dispute, Nigel pleads with Phil and Julie to stop arguing and runs out. Will Julie and Nigel say goodbye to Walford and return to Scotland? Fans will have to tune in to find out.
EastEnders continues to air from Monday to Thursday on BBC One and iPlayer, offering fans a mix of drama, emotion, and unexpected twists.
