Hundreds of motorsport enthusiasts gathered at the Kigali Convention Centre on Friday, July 4, 2025 Rwanda Mountain Gorilla Rally officially started. The three-day event was officially flagged off by Minister of State for Sports Rwego Ngarambe and Rwanda Automobile Club president Christian Gakwaya. The 2025 Rwandan Rally has drawn at least 21 drivers, all vying for victory over a challenging 386-kilometre course. The competition began with the Super Stage at the Kigali Business Centre (KBC) roundabout, before heading to Bugesera on Saturday for two more action-packed rounds on the dusty tracks of Gako and Nemba. The opening day featured standout performances from 2024 champion Karan Patel, African Rally Championship leader Yasin Nasser, and Rwanda’s own Giancarlo Davite, who was racing alongside co-driver Sandrine Isheja.
