The House of Hohenzollern is a formal royal German dynasty. In 1918, the country’s monarchy was abolished as a result of the German Revolution, which followed World War I. The royal house is no longer officially recognized by Germany, but two lines of Hohenzollern aristocracy still exist today: the Prussian line, lead by Georg Friedrich, Prince of Prussia, and the Swabian line, headed by Karl Friedrich, Prince of Hohenzollern.
