The Minot Police Department announced that officers Cullen Hall and Tyler Burtch have been awarded the Medal of Honor by the North Dakota Chiefs of Police Association. According to the MPD, this is the highest honor the association can bestow.
This award is meant for officers who demonstrate courage on the job, placing themselves in harm’s way to save people.
The officers were placed on administrative leave following an officer-involved shooting in October of last year, but cleared of any wrongdoing a month later and allowed to return to the department.
Interim Chief Dale Plessas presented this award to the officers for their actions in the case.
