SAYBROOK, Ill. (WCIA) — Sidney Schaefer and Brian Huang from the Saybrook Bicentennial Committee joined WCIA’s Taylor Mitchell to talk about their upcoming event.
The town of Saybrook was founded in 1825, and residents will be celebrating the town’s 200th birthday from June 28-29. Committee members have been working on the event for the past two years.
Attendees can expect music, a parade, food trucks, and more. It’ll take place all over town; you can find a schedule of events

“It’s been a lot of work, we’ve had a lot of fundraisers, we’ve seen a ton of support from people and businesses in the area. I don’t know what to say, it’s a labor of love and we hope it is successful,” Huang said.
