CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – On Sunday, a Cedar Rapids group launched a new initiative to get more people outside, active, and aware of their health.
Downtown Cedar Rapids kicked off its first-ever 5SeasonsFit week with activities in Greene Square Park. The week-long event is trying to improve people’s mental and physical health.
At the kickoff event, people were able to learn more about different physical activities, get a massage or just have a healthy drink.
“We try to bring all elements of health and wellness, whether it be physical, mental, preventative health, et cetera, and get people in the community to come out and take a free class,” Jennifar Bassett, the Downtown Cedar Rapids program manager, said.
Other events will include a mental health panel, a pickleball tournament, and will all wrap up with a golf outing.
