Kelly’s Pub and Wine Bar is set to close its doors for the last time tonight, marking the end of an era for the beloved local establishment. Owners Rob and Rhonda Hanson are hosting a special trivia night, inviting patrons to enjoy one final evening of camaraderie and entertainment.
The Hansons expressed their disappointment over the closure, citing a decline in business over the past few years as the reason for shutting down. “We had hoped to avoid closing,” Rob said, acknowledging the economic challenges that have made it impossible to keep the pub open.
Despite the closure, the Hansons reflected on their achievements with pride. “We’re proud of what we’ve built,” they said, highlighting their efforts to expand the food and drink menu and create a vibrant venue for live entertainment. Kelly’s Pub was one of the first venues for local comedians in the area, a testament to its role in the community.
The owners also expressed gratitude for the support they’ve received over the years. “We’re grateful for all the love and support,” they said.
Tonight’s trivia event, which is not part of the county-wide tournament, promises to be a memorable send-off. The pub will serve customers from 4 to 9 p.m., with trivia starting at 6:30 p.m. Patrons are encouraged to join the Hansons for a final pint and a chance to celebrate the legacy of Kelly’s Pub and Wine Bar on Hilltop Drive.
