One person on X shared a video claiming they witnessed an “exoatmospheric interception of a missile launched by Iran towards Israel, which is when a missile is destroyed in space, outside Earth’s atmosphere.”

Following the first wave of retaliatory strikes from Iran, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that they had targeted Israeli military facilities and air bases with missile attacks.

In a statement, the IRGC conveyed, “Employing a range of precision-guided and advanced systems, we focused on military centers and airbases that were implicated in the unlawful aggression against our nation.”

Iran asserted that it had targeted military-industrial sites in Israel responsible for missile production and other military assets.

They claimed that “field reports, satellite photographs, and intercepted intelligence suggest that numerous ballistic missiles successfully struck key targets.”

“Despite claims of interception, the enemy failed to counter the waves of missile strikes launched by the Islamic Republic of Iran,” the statement claimed.

In turn, the Israeli military reported that it targeted two Iranian air force bases used for missile and drone operations on Friday.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that they struck the Hamadan air base located in western Iran and effectively dismantled Iran’s Tabriz air base, which serves as a surface-to-surface missile launch site in the northwest.

Additionally, they claimed to have targeted and dismantled numerous Iranian UAVs and surface-to-surface missile launchers during the assault.

Following Israel’s military action, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu promised, “More actions are forthcoming.” He had earlier indicated that Israel’s efforts against Iran might extend over several days.

President Donald Trump affirmed the United States’ support for Israel, remarking that Iran should secure a nuclear agreement “before it’s too late.”

As the tensions come to a head, Iran said it will intensify its attacks on Israel and target the regional bases of any country that tries to defend it.

“Iran reserves the right, under international law, to respond decisively to this regime. Any country that attempts to defend the regime against Iran’s operations will, in turn, see its regional bases and positions become new target,” an official said.
