Demonstrators gathered at UC Santa Cruz today for an “emergency rally” in response to recent ICE arrests in the state and the deployment of the National Guard and Marines, marching from the base of the campus downtown to Clock Tower Plaza.
“We’re here to stand up for our brown brothers and sisters who are being kidnapped and taken, immigration hearings without rightful due process. People are scared to leave their homes. People are getting taken at jobs, no criminal records. And we’re here to support,” one protester said.
