Bangkok has been ranked the world’s top destination for remote work, according to a new study by QR Code Generator, a company specializing in QR technology solutions.
The study evaluated cities across the globe based on key factors such as internet speed, remote work visa access, and overall affordability. Each destination received a score out of 100.
With a leading score of 69.98, Thailand’s capital topped the index, earning praise for its fast mobile internet, low cost of living, and vibrant cultural landscape, according to the ranking exclusively cited by the

“Bangkok’s ornate temples, delectable cuisine, and energetic street life are ideal for anyone seeking to experience somewhere new,” the experts commented.
“Thailand’s capital offers a dynamic atmosphere, making it a coveted hotspot for any digital nomad looking to embrace a heritage-rich city that uniquely blends modernity and tradition,” they added, as quoted by the

Bucharest, Romania, came in second with a score of 65.62, thanks to strong access to remote work visas, a rich arts and architecture scene, and expansive green spaces ideal for outdoor activities.
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, ranked third with a score of 62.35, supported by its strong local purchasing power.
Buenos Aires, Argentina, placed fourth, recognized as one of the world’s most affordable cities for groceries and dining.
Beijing, China, rounded out the top five, backed by its high-speed broadband and mobile networks that ensure reliable global connectivity for remote workers.
In response to the ranking, deputy government spokesperson Sasikarn Watthanachan said on Saturday that a new

has been introduced to attract foreigners looking to combine travel with remote work, or participate in cultural and
medical activities

She also noted that the Thai government is working to boost tourism by expanding its visa-free scheme to 93 countries and territories, allowing stays of up to 60 days.
