Top 30 Affordable Used Cars in Kenya for 2025: Prices Revealed Under New KRA CRSP Guidelines

The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) issued a public notice announcing the introduction of a revised Current Retail Selling Price (CRSP) schedule for used motor vehicles.

KRA stated that the updated CRSP will serve as a basis for calculating the customs value of second-hand vehicles imported into the country as from July 1, 2025.

According to the notice released by the tax authority, the changes follow an extensive engagement process with stakeholders.

“The updated CRSP list has been published on the KRA website. Importers and other stakeholders are encouraged to visit the page and familiarise themselves with the new list and acquaint themselves with the changes,” the notice read.

The CRSP is a critical component in determining the import duty, VAT, and excise duty payable on used vehicles brought into Kenya.

In an earlier report by .co.ke, car dealer Joseph Kairu Wambui explained that the upward revision of the CRSP by KRA will significantly impact the final cost of used cars at the point of entry, and ultimately, prices in the local market.

Cheapest used cars to import in Kenya

The table below shows the cars with the cheapest retail price according to the new KRA schedule.

Notably, the prices below will be used to calculate the amount of tax that importers will pay for the cars at the point of entry into the country.

Therefore, Kenyan customers will most likely access the cars in the Kenyan market at higher prices, depending on the dealers.
