Zamfara Revamps Hospital, Promises Improved Health Services – International Edition (English)

On Friday, Governor Dauda Lawal officially launched the newly refurbished General Hospital Anka and reiterated his government’s dedication to delivering high-quality and cost-effective medical services throughout Zamfara State.

On Friday, a statement from Governor’s spokesperson Sulaiman Bala Idris indicated that during the commissioning ceremony, the governor emphasized the importance of efficiently managing the recently enhanced facility and reassured the public of ongoing investments in essential infrastructure.

At the event, Lawal discussed the extent of the renovation initiative, noting that an esteemed local firm had finished it in just one year.

“The restoration of this hospital commenced last year and was undertaken by a local and well-regarded firm. The investment has converted the hospital into a contemporary healthcare center equipped with advanced technology. This development will surely improve the standard of medical treatment for our residents in Anka and neighboring areas,” said the governor.

One part of the refurbished areas within the hospital encompasses the GOPD/Old Admin Block, Male Ward, Female Ward, Pharmacy Building, New Entrance Fence, as well as a connector passageway linking the female ward, X-ray department, and Theater Wing. The new developments at the facility also feature an Accident and Emergency unit, Laboratory facilities, Eye and Dental Clinics, Maternity/Former Lab Ward, Antenatal Care center (ANC), New Administrative building, Mosque, Medical Director’s residence, and Pediatric wards.

Governor Lawal stated that the hospital represents the realization of one of his administration’s pledges to provide the benefits of democracy and enhance the quality of life for residents.

“To the residents of Anka and nearby areas, this initiative fulfills our commitment to provide the benefits of democracy and enhance the quality of life for citizens,” he stated.

He likewise stressed his administration’s development objectives spanning various industries.

“We remain committed to focusing on developmental concerns, making sure that our community members can obtain accessible and high-quality healthcare, education, farming resources, road networks, and other essential infrastructures throughout the state,” he further stated.
