He mentioned that in line with the Federal Government’s Green Initiative, the firm plans to introduce several hybrid and electric vehicles shortly.

He stated, “We plan to launch the Urban Cruiser and Corolla Cross as part of our hybrid and electric initiatives, thus aligning with the Federal Government’s green agenda. Our focus will be on bringing more fuel-efficient models into the market through these hybrid options, which include additional battery packs designed for extended travel range.”

A highly significant model to look out for is the compact Land Cruiser, scheduled to arrive later this year or at the beginning of next year. Although it’s somewhat more petite compared to the RAV 4, it boasts four-wheel drive capabilities equipped with a 2.4-liter engine.

On after-sales services, Mr. Ade-Ojo said, ‘We ensure that we continue to take good care of our customers. We have different offerings such as maintenance packages for those who want to pay ahead for a year or two; we also have after-sales service promotions. Our body and paint offerings are open to all brands, not only Toyota.

We continue to endorse our Toyota Genuine Motor Oil, which has proven highly successful in Nigeria. This product is utilized not just for Toyota vehicles but for various other makes as well.

…3000 units were sold in 2024

He stated that Toyota Nigeria’s sales in 2024 exceeded projections, even amid the country’s economic difficulties, as the company saw a significant rise in car sales relative to those of 2023.

He explicitly mentioned that the TNL sold slightly more than the 3,000 Toyota vehicles forecasted for the previous year.

Despite an unstable economy characterized by inflation and considerable devaluation of the naira, we managed to sell more vehicles in 2024 compared to the prior year. This underscores the robust trust customers have in our brand,” said Ade-Ojo.

The managing director disclosed that Hilux, Hiace, and Rush were the best-selling models for 2024.
