Six members of a notorious armed robbery gang on the police watchlist have been arrested while on their way for an undisclosed robbery operation in Lagos.
The suspects were arrested during raids of criminal hideouts in the metropolis ahead of Sallah celebration.
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, had directed heads of tactical units, Area Commanders and their respective Divisional Police Officers (DPO) to raid high level flash points within the metropolis.

Following the directive, detectives, mounted surveillance network in strategic locations.
The surveillance network paid off on May 29, 2025, when the suspects were apprehended.
Several arms and ammunition as well as an unregistered vehicle were allegedly recovered from the suspects.
Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the arrest identified the suspects as Yakubu Oke (48), Teslim Balogun (33), Emmanuel Osas (33), Joseph Abah (34), Idris Adewunmi (32) and Opeyemi Kolawole (28).
