Around 3,000 United Illuminating customers lost power Tuesday after downed wires impacted a circuit in
East Haven
.
According to UI spokesperson Sarah Wall Fliotsos, UI received a call at 6:45 p.m. about “wires burning and coming down” onto North High Street in East Haven.
The wires then impacted a high-load circuit, leading to the outages.
Fliotsos said the estimated restoration time was 10 p.m. The UI outage map showed power was restored to most of the affected customers.
