Punjab Government Announces Recruitment for 2000 Physical Training Instructors in Government Schools

The Punjab government has launched a significant recruitment drive for 2000 positions of Physical Training Instructors (PTI) in government primary schools. This initiative is being managed by the Directorate of School Education (DSE), Punjab, and aims to enhance physical education programs across the state.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates interested in applying must meet specific eligibility criteria. The basic requirement is that applicants should have passed the 12th standard from a recognized board. Additionally, they need to hold a degree in Physical Education, such as a Diploma in Physical Education (DPED) or a Certificate in Physical Education (CPED). Notably, students currently in their final year of a diploma program are also eligible to apply. Furthermore, it is mandatory for candidates to have studied Punjabi as a subject in the 10th grade.

Age Limit

The age criteria for this recruitment are set at a minimum of 18 years and a maximum of 37 years. However, candidates belonging to reserved categories will be granted age relaxation according to government regulations.

Salary Details

Selected candidates will receive a monthly salary of Rs 29,200 during the initial three years of their probation period. After completing the probation, their salary and allowances will be determined in accordance with the Seventh Pay Commission guidelines.

Application Fee

The application fee varies based on the candidate’s category. General category and other non-reserved categories are required to pay Rs 2000, while candidates from the SC and ST categories will only need to pay Rs 1000.

Selection Process

The selection process consists of three stages. The first stage includes a written test and a qualifying Punjabi language test. Following this, candidates will undergo a physical fitness test. Finally, the selection will be based on a merit list prepared after evaluating all the candidates.

Written Examination Structure

The written examination will cover various subjects, including general knowledge, reasoning ability, pedagogy and teaching aptitude, physical education, Punjabi, and English. The exam will carry a total of 100 marks, ensuring a comprehensive evaluation of the candidates’ abilities.
